So I had to share tonight’s #BloggerProblem with those who would understand.

Yesterday I found these medical cabinets at the Nashville Flea Market ($100 for the pair).

Yesterday evening I already had them cleaned and dismantled. Sadly the hardware didn’t clean up with Brasso =(

Today during lunch I checked out the 5” boring hardware options at Home Depot, there weren’t many…

Tonight I sanded off their finish….

Then with the combo of sanding, using a finer grit than I really should have, cause I really really wanted to get them sanded tonight, and my generous coating of OFF Deep Woods bug spray (read about mosquito attack here)… I ended up coated in the black paint I was removing…

It was all worth it though… cause I’m a couple tac cloths away from painting =)

Do you ever get sooo excited about a project that you just can’t wait?!?

Additional Note in between all this I also…

On Friday during a lunch time ‘aerobic antiquing’ event I found this for the kitchen, Monday I went back measured it, decided it would fit, and bought it. Tonight before the sanding adventure I wiped the whole thing down and moved all the stuff into it.

Oh I also got new knobs for my Ikea TV stand while at Home Depot and put those one, they are a similar style to the ones on my Martha Stewart console, and really tie the room together, plus my TV stand looks less Ikea with the nonstandard knobs, yay for a $6 upgrade!

So basically the past two days have been super house productive, actually the past few months have been but I just haven’t had a chance to tell y’all about them, no worries though I took lots of pictures, and will catch up soon!

Tuesday Morning Update (The above was written Monday night):

Woke up at 3 AM covered in mosquito bites… yeah today’s gonna be fun on 4 hours of sleep plus 2 kinda sleeping hours…

Let the home improvement and home décor section of Hello Kirsti commence!

We closed on our first home on Tuesday and have been doing a whirlwind of moving and cleaning all week after work. Many before and after's to come, but here’s a sneak peek!

It was built in 1954 and the lot is gorgeous with tons of trees, including a fig tree that originated in Italy! We even got a bottle of wine that was made in the cellar/storm shelter in the basement of the house! How neat is that?! (I don’t know if we’ll be continuing that particular tradition…loll)

It’s in the Donelson area of Nashville, which if you’ve been to Nashville it’s close to the Opryland, Oprymills, airport area.

We’re so excited!

P.S. If anyone knows the official term for high bedroom windows like this, I’d love to know it, I definitely need some window treatment ideas!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. This weekend I got to introduce Andrew to some of my favorite old movies. We started off with Hitchcock classics Rear Window, follow by The Man Who Knew Too Much on Saturday, then Sunday we watched a more recent one The Straight Story. If you’ve missed out on any of those, I highly highly recommend them all!

  

Ever since I watched The Man Who Knew Too Much for the first time back in high school, Doris Day singing Que Sera, Sera has been a favorite “it’s all gonna be ok song.”

I’m not a huge lyric décor person, but after watching the movie I was like hmmm, this would be something to make a print of, so I did!
I’ve got two sizes for you, and one with a transparent background incase you want to do your own background. The background I used is a high resolution scan from an old airmail letter which pays homage to the travels of the McKenna family in The Man Who Knew Too Much.

Andrew & I are headed to the Music City Hot Chicken Festival, where his Jazz band The Centennial Hiptet is playing a set, luckily it’s the first set from 11 to 12, seeing as Nashville was 108 last week, and tomorrow is set to hit 100.

Also I’ll leave you with one of my favorite patriotic things I’ve found on YouTube, Red Skelton’s Pledge of Allegiance, where he defines each word of the pledge in a such a powerful way which truly reminds you of what it means to be an American.

I had meant to go to Macy's this weekend for their Columbus Day Sale stuff, but didn't make it, so I went last night, and convinced A to come along with the promise of some CPK.
Macy's was a total bust, completely picked over, but oh well.

I've also been meaning to make it to Lenscrafter's lately since my glasses I rarely wear (since I never remember them) are now over 4 years old.

 These were originally needed to see the board in accounting... which didn't help much, haha, soo glad I knocked that class out freshman year.

I took advantage of A being in a mall, and made him help me pick, since my #1 shopping assistant Mom isn't here to assist me =(
I tried on tons, Andrew was sorta helpful, he also tried some on, but all I could do is laugh since I've never seen him in any.

I only really liked two pairs

These Anne Klien's which have very small lenses

And these Tory Burch's which are exactly the one's that my mom got that I didn't even know about until I sent her the link. Great Minds.

I kinda feel like trying some other places since there were few I really liked, I know i need a wider frame and a small square-ish shape for my face. Since I don't need them much I can be pretty bold with them too like I did with my MuiMui's.

A & I ended our date night sharing some yummy California Pizza Kitchen BLT Pizza. It was funny we hadn't been there since our third date, and then we totally got seated in the same booth!

As I prepare to spend the day making The Best Chocolate Sheet Cake Ever, That's the Best Frosting, I've Ever Had, Congo Bars, and Devil's Bugles for our 80s party tomorrow something hit me in the grocery store as I bought the assortment  of ingredients... wouldn't it all be simpler if I just made the party a Cake Wreck party.
