Thread & Notions Organizing

Thread-Storage-SolutionYou can find these plastic divided organizers in at least 4 different departments at Wal-Mart. My favorite and the cheapest are in the Rubbermaid brand in hardware section for $3.97, they are a little bigger than the jewelry and fishing ones at 14” x 8.5”  and all the dividers are movable, which fits my shelf perfectly.

Coats and Clark thread fits perfectly, nice Silky and Gutenberg fits as well, but not as well. I keep my bobbins in a plastic bobbin organizer, but it’s far from perfect. Serger cones are in plastic shoeboxes.

Thread-button-notion-storage-001I also organized my button collection and my various hardware and bias tape makers. Yay for “High Density Storage”.

Overall these have worked out to be a great cheap storage solution which can be reused when I someday build one of the awesome thread racks on Pinterest.

  1. I need better thread storage. I use several machines and they all have different bobbin sizes.
