American Girl Molly’s PJ’s

By October 19, 2012 , ,

Molly's-PJsThis is made from one of the original patterns released by Pleasant Company, they have since been discontinued, but you can download a printable version at AG Play Things, they print out well, I chose to just print the pattern pages, and read the directions on my ipad.
I really wanted to do a full tutorial on these, but I had some difficultly with the collar facing, they look ok but aren’t perfect.
I made them out of my own old pj bottoms, plain white cotton, some baby white ricrac and Wal-Mart tiny buttons, they are pretty cute! For the sash I used a coordinating piece of grosgrain ribbon.
One tip is to make yourself a template for that tiny little pocket, you fingers will thank you.

I also used blue tape as a seam guide. For the ricrac I recommend using a washable glue stick instead of pins.

  3. These are so cute...my daughter needs some of these for her doll. I found an American Girl doll at a garage sale this summer for $10 and now I've gotta get busy and clothe her...thanks for the inspiration.

My sister and I host a joint party and we'd love for you to join us. Remember, when you link up at one site, it shows up on both my blog and my sister's blog too...double exposure!!

    1. What a lucky find Carrie! There are so many great free patterns out there, the major pattern companies have some decent ones too to snap up on sale. I try and collect all my ideas in this pinboard (http://pinterest.com/hellokirsti/american-girl-dolls/) , it should be a great resource for you!

    2. I want to make sure I'm printing out these patterns correctly. Directions say to print them at 100% with no scale. The scale to enlarge says it's already at 132%. Do I change it to 100% to print it out. Thanks for the great patterns.

    3. Judi, yes you'll need to change it to 100% so they print the proper size =)
